Vicar of Shortlands

Of Shortlands Beckenham Deanery - London Borough of Bromley

Location:

South East

Recruiter:

Ref: JN012479

Shortlands is a leafy, residential suburb (pop. 8,000) located between Beckenham and Bromley. It has a small number of shops, but is only a 20-minute walk from the bustling town of Bromley with its many shops and restaurants.

We are seeking a strong, prayerful and experienced parish priest who enjoys building relationships and working collaboratively within a team of committed lay people.

In particular our new Vicar will be:

  • a confident, experienced and collaborative leader who commands respect, discerns people’s gifts and deploys individuals to enable the church to thrive.

  • committed to nurturing the diversity of Anglican worship within a central tradition.

  • an effective communicator, preaching and leading worship in a way that is attractive and authentic to all age groups.

  • committed to encouraging diversity, welcoming all inclusively and equally.

  • able to embrace and respond sensitively and flexibly to the needs and challenges of the community.

The wider a group’s diversity, the smarter, wiser, and more compassionate and creative its decision making becomes. We are committed to achieving diversity throughout our Diocese by seeking UKME/GMH colleagues and those from a wide-range of backgrounds, to help us create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
