Job Description

St Chad's is Shrewsbury's Civic & Military Church of Shropshire, a member of the Greater Churches' Network, attracting 50,000 visitors each year. St Chad's has a strong musical & choral tradition with ASA of 150 but holds civic/county services of 1000+.

 

St Alkmund's is an active open town centre parish church with its own PCC and dedicated congregation with ASA of 30 using Common Worship. It receives about 10,000 visitors each year.

 

It is hoped that the new Vicar will:

  • share, develop and lead the PCC's vision to serve the community in Shrewsbury and beyond;
  • be committed to lead choral sacramental Anglican worship on Sundays and weekdays;
  • be an able and experienced preacher capable of reaching the next generation with the gospel;
  • actively enable & develop provision of children's/youth work, pastoral care & outreach;
  • work together with other churches in Shrewsbury and with groups from other faiths, whilst rejoicing in and utilising the talents in our own 2 parishes.
