The Bishop of Rochester seeks to appoint a Vicar – St Mary’s Church, Hadlow
Including one day a week as Rural Champion for the Diocese We are seeking someone who will:
Bring a pastoral heart and desire to serve the whole community
Be a collaborative leader, enabling and empowering the many gifted lay people within the parish
Offer imaginative and accessible worship while sustaining our valued Eucharistic and choral tradition
Be visible in the parish, including schools, Hadlow College, community groups, and village events
Champion a deeply inclusive church affirming and empowering and ensuring every voice is welcomed, valued and called to lead
In addition, one day a week is dedicated to serving as the Diocese’s Rural Champion (a new role), supporting and encouraging rural parishes across the Diocese of Rochester in mission and ministry — an exciting opportunity to champion their unique gifts and shape a thriving rural future. We run activities for all ages, and have strong partnerships with local schools and Hadlow College.
