The Bishop of Kensington seeks to appoint a Priest in Anglican Orders as Vicar of St Augustine’s, Whitton

St Augustine’s church is prominently positioned in Whitton, West London and the ministry is outward focused in service and in mission. The Church has an established catholic worship tradition, and seeks a priest who will come with enthusiasm and vision, to lead the parish into further growth and deeper local engagement. There are already excellent connections with the local community and an impressive ministry of compassion and care.

To assist in this, the Bishop and PCC are looking for a Vicar who is:

  • A forward-thinking leader in mission, who can build on previous work and growth, whilst also offering fresh ideas and perspective.

  • Able to stimulate a vision that will widen expectations of what God is doing in Whitton, and to equip and empower the church to respond courageously and collaboratively.

  • An effective communicator and an approachable, good listener, who can engage with all ages, especially with young families, and is able to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people from a variety of life experiences and backgrounds.

  • Community focused, compassionate, and especially eager to engage with opportunities to work with local schools.

Enhanced DBS is required

The Diocese of London is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce that represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of United Kingdom Minority Ethnic/Global Majority Heritage (UKME/GMH), women, and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation. The appointment will of course be based on merit alone.
