With its 7 churches in 4 rural parishes, we are situated in the stunning Vale of White Horse between Oxford and Swindon. At a time of change and evolution in our benefice we are seeking an individual to take on the ministry and lead us in faith to shape the future of our churches.
Our new vicar will:
- Be approachable friendly, and at ease interacting with a cross section of people within rural parishes, the local Defence
Academy and a number of local schools (both state
- Be energetic, enthusiastic with a ‘can-do’ and a collaborative approach, prepared to engage with the wider community, encourage existing activities alongside developing new creative initiatives.
- Be an inspirational preacher, able to adapt and be sympathetic to very wide and different approaches to worship from traditional to contemporary. A clear understanding of rural ministry will
- Have a strong faith and pastoral focus; be passionate about scripture and able to translate God’s word to demonstrate its relevance in today’s world.
The successful applicant can be confident of receiving a warm welcome for themselves and their family in an environment which offers great support and teamwork between the incumbent, the associate vicar,
motivated and committed PCC’s and supporting ministry team including a part time benefice administrator. The modern and spacious vicarage is situated in the heart of Shrivenham and would make a wonderful family home.
