Parish of St Paul, Manuka, Canberra, Australia
Contract:
Permanent
Location:
Australia
Salary:
from A$79,000 + 11.5% superannuation, travel allowance c.$12,000
The Parish of Manuka, Canberra, seeks an experienced priest with initiative and creativity, to serve as a fulltime vicar. St Paul’s occupies a prominent location in proximity to important national institutions including Parliament House, the National Gallery and National Library, diplomatic missions, the diocesan theological college and grammar schools. The absence of a cathedral in the capital means that St Paul’s hosts a lot of major services, eg. the service for the opening of the parliamentary year. This is an open and inclusive parish in the High Church tradition with a diverse congregation. The parish is well-regarded in Canberra for its tradition of sacred music, a tradition which is being developed further through our extensive Children’s and Youth Choirs programmes. Other ministries include Sunday School, a programme of seminars, studies and workshops, refugee support, mission support and hospitality. We are looking for a gifted priest to support the Rector and ministry team with the pastoral, evangelistic, catechetical and general ministry needs of the Parish and its growing community. We seek a priest with excellent communication and preaching skills, liturgical acumen, enthusiasm for community building and capacity to contribute to the Parish’s ministry and mission strategy. Possibilities for visa sponsorship and relocation allowance may be considered. www.stpaulsmanuka.org.au/ Send expressions of interest to: rector@stpaulsmanuka.org.au
