Camber is a coastal village in a beautiful area of East Sussex on the western edge of the Romney Marsh between Rye and Lydd. With a caravan park and a large Pontin’s holiday camp, it is a popular destination for tourists from all over Europe, in addition to a resident population of around 1,500.
St Thomas Camber is an integrated complex, with a modern church and a well-maintained hall, which has been widely used by community groups. The Vicarage is a detached four-bedroom house on the church site.
East Guldeford is a small nearby village in an agricultural area, in which St Mary’s Church is a Chapel of Ease.
Our two churches have small but enthusiastic and community-focussed congregations.
We seek a caring and supportive priest to enrich our worship and reach out to the local community, and to holiday makers in the summer months. Although primarily based in Camber, s/he would be expected to minister across the Rye Team.
