Team Rector - opportunity in the Benefice of Egremont (9000 pop) which bounds the Western side of Lake District National Park. The
benefice comprises the parish church of Egremont, a daughter church in Bigrigg and the parish church of Haile.
The Team Rector will have the opportunity to develop the role of the Benefice of Egremont within the emerging local mission community, part of the Carlisle Diocesan “God for All” ecumenical initiative.
To support the Team Rector in this work the Benefice is:
- Financially viable
- Well integrated ecumenically with “Churches together”
- Currently led by a half time stipendiary vicar and vibrant
voluntary ministry team i.e. SSM & Readers
- Actively supporting many other activities led by the congregation and the local community
The Benefice has open, reflective Eucharistic worship in the
modern Catholic tradition, with appropriate services for festivals and
civic occasions. Services for life’s milestones of baptism, marriage and funerals receive considerable support from the community, confirming our desire to be “a church for the town and a town for the church”. Pastoral care and encouraging growth together in faith are also priorities.
There is plenty of opportunity for the Team Rector to develop new
directions with the congregation’s support to bring God’s message of Love into the lives of the people of Egremont.
We think this opportunity is suitable for a challenging first incumbency or a step up to more responsibility. However others may also think this job is also for them!
Maybe this is for you?
