School Chaplain

Based in Perth, Western Australia, St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School is an independent day and boarding school for over 1450 girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. We provide girls with opportunities to pursue personal and academic excellence in a respectful and supportive environment.

Working closely with the Principal, the School Chaplain plays an integral role within the School, being deeply committed to leading and coordinating the spiritual life of St Mary’s. The central responsibilities include leading worship with a focus on the Eucharist, caring for our school community, and implementing programs that support our Anglican tradition, in liaison with Religious Studies and pastoral care staff. The School Chaplain plays a key role in caring for our school community – students, staff, parents and Old Girls.

The responsibilities of the School Chaplain include, but are not limited to:

• Encouraging students to pursue their faith development.

• Communicating positive religious and moral values.

• Working closely with our team of teachers of Religious Studies in both Junior and Senior School.

• Participate in the growth and development of the School’s service-learning programs.

It is also expected for the School Chaplain to take an active part in the wider life of the Anglican Diocese of Perth. The successful applicant will be a Licensed Priest within the Diocese of Perth (or will undertake the process of licensing with the Diocese of Perth upon successful selection).
