Job Description

WEST CHELTENHAM

RECTOR OF WEST CHELTENHAM

A New Role and a New Challenge

The Martyrs Memorial Trust (CPAS) as patrons, and the Rt Revd Rachel Treweek, Bishop of Gloucester, seek to appoint a collaborative and strategic leader as Rector to this large and diverse parish spanning suburban and urban priority areas of Cheltenham.

Following a recent pastoral scheme, the current team ministry is being dissolved and the Rector will lead a new parish-wide team (including an Associate Rector and Pioneer Minister, yet to be appointed) across three open evangelical worshipping communities committed to engaging with the good news of the gospel across the parish.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a new chapter of worship, discipleship and mission in West Cheltenham. You will need to be a ‘community builder’ and have the skills to unite, equip and empower others in mission and ministry, working in partnership with other churches and organisations in seeking to make Jesus’ offer of ‘life to the full’ (John 10:10) more fully known across the Parish.

Cheltenham is served by excellent schools and a University, first class amenities and with beautiful countryside on its doorstep.

For an informal discussion about the role contact
the Archdeacon of Cheltenham, the Ven Phil Andrew on 01452 835594 or 07498 052045.
