Job Description

We are

A well-organised benefice of five parishes situated between Newbury and Reading in Berkshire. We were established 10 years ago and know we are better together.

We seek

A priest who is inclusive and open, with a faith rooted in prayer and
sacrament. Someone who will enjoy nurturing our different gifts and
talents, and will work collaboratively with lay and ordained colleagues. Someone who is able to communicate in word and action the breadth, depth and height of God’s love for all: school child and pensioner, occasional visitor and loyal church goer. Someone who can take us forward in our faith and ministry.

We offer

  • The support of a part time ministry team of three priests, one licensed lay minister, and a children’s work coordinator, assisted by a benefice administrator and a wedding administrator (both part time)
  • An exciting opportunity to develop our substantial outreach to younger people through our weddings and baptisms
  • Six well-loved churches that are financially sound
  • An attractive place to live with good schools, communication and transport links

We are looking forward with hope for a priest who will serve us with joy, lead us by example, and enable us to develop further our work of growing God’s kingdom in this beautiful place.
