The Wykeham Benefice, located in rural North Oxfordshire

London and Home Counties

Ref: JN011857

We are an active Benefice of six rural village parishes of great character and wide-ranging interests. Our churches are focal points of our wider community.

We are seeking a Rector who is called to provide energetic spiritual, pastoral and community leadership across the Benefice. Our new incumbent will promote the Christian faith and its universal values through wholehearted engagement across our community. This will include in our schools, perhaps through the love of music, the arts and sports, and through our traditional community activities.

Our new Rector will have the enthusiastic support of our experienced and committed churchwardens and PCCs, and, most importantly, will enjoy the loving embrace of our community, including those who historically rarely attend church services but who look to the Rector as a leading light among us.

Our corner of north Oxfordshire, bordering the Cotswolds and adjacent to south Warwickshire, is an exceptionally attractive, socially and economically dynamic rural parcel of England, with a stable and broad-based resident population. Our area, despite its relatively peaceful situation, has excellent connections to Oxford, London, Stratford-upon-Avon and other places of interest.

For an informal discussion, please contact the Archdeacon of Dorchester, the Venerable David Tyler, on 07961 726403 or by email at
