ICS seeks a Chaplain to reach out in mission to an international congregation in South America.
Rio de Janeiro is a vibrant metropolis, well known for its dynamic personality and its natural beauty. In recent years the congregation of Christ Church Rio has started to grow in numbers and there are signs of a revival upon which we are keen to build.
It is in this context that we are now seeking an energetic, experienced, spiritually mature, ordained Anglican Evangelical Pastor to lead this long-established English
speaking church, in this our 200th year since we were established to be the English-speaking church in Rio. www.christchurchrio.org.br
Our mission is that we are: “Called to be the Light of Christ in Rio.”
We are looking for a person who feels called to this exciting challenge!
He/she will need to be a gifted communicator; a talented Bible teacher, with strong pastoral and interpersonal skills, as well as be able to adapt to different traditions and cultures. The ability to learn and speak Portuguese will be essential for integration into the community and for maintaining strong relationships with local churches.
The emoluments include a stipend net of local taxes; home leave once a year; accommodation provided by the church; health insurance, and the reimbursement of expenses incurred on duty.
