Benefice of Lockington and Lund and Scorborough with Leconfield

Location:

Yorkshire and Lincs

Recruiter:

Ref: JN011222

Our benefice of four rural churches is situated in a glorious part of the East Riding of Yorkshire just a few miles north of the very attractive Georgian town of Beverley.

A quote from our local church school – ‘A great place to be – come and join us!’

We offer:

  • Enthusiastic, welcoming and friendly churches
  • A real desire to grow and reach out to our families
  • Inclusive, central tradition of worship
  • Very good lay support including three Authorised Lay Ministers (two Worship & one Pastoral)
  • An attractive 4-bedroom rectory in Lockington
  • Two excellent schools with which there are close links – a church primary school in Lockington and a community primary school in Leconfield
  • Big skies countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds and the North York Moors

We are praying for a Rector who:

  • Will be an encouraging, prayerful and visible pastoral presence within our caring and active village communities
  • Has a genuine desire to communicate and connect joyfully with people of all ages
  • Will continue to nurture and enhance our good relationships with our local schools
  • Can recognise and use the skills of the laity across our benefice
  • Wants to lead us to joyfully proclaim the gospel in our communities

We understand rural life and don’t expect our Vicar to do everything – we have active church members who look forward to sharing in ministry with you!
