Job Description

St Werburgh’s, Kingsley, St Mark’s, Foxt with St Mildred’s, Whiston, and St John’s, Cotton, with Holy Trinity, Oakamoor.


Could you be the right person for us and could we be the right people for you?


We are looking for someone who is:

  • an enabler, helping us discover and use our gifts to grow God’s kingdom in our communities;
  • insightful, with a sense of humour and a passion for ‘every
    member ministry’, and the energy to make it happen, with the help of our Ministry Team, our Reader and an enthusiastic
  • able to integrate and develop a rapport with the communities, reaching out to others and increasing the participation of young families, yet being sensitive to the needs of the older members of our congregations;
  • a gifted communicator, preacher and teacher;
  • able to develop a team to assist in providing pastoral care;
  • maintain and develop the links with the aided primary school;
  • maintain a visible presence in the benefice;
  • reside in the excellent rectory within the benefice situated at the southern boundary of the beautiful Peak District;
  • develop and encourage the collaboration enjoyed by all five churches.
