Job Description

The Diocese is extending its training department in line with its vision of ‘confident Christians, growing churches, transforming communities’ and the national vision of developing discipleship.


You will work as part of the Diocesan team of Hub Principals within the School of Ministry to deliver accredited courses in theology and
ministry in two learning hubs across the Diocese using the Common Awards modules.


The role involves working collaboratively as part of the lay training School of Ministry team to:

  • Enable a weekly training session per hub (evening TTO) to provide theological training for trainee readers, ordinands and independent students with an annual weekend away.
  • Work closely with the other Hub Principals and Director of Lay Training in developing the Leeds School of Ministry program through the Common Awards modules.
  • Identify and support theological tutors and specialists to deliver excellent theological education.
  • Support students in their learning and development.
  • Participate in the Yorkshire Regional Training and Education
    Partnership (YTEP) and Common Awards leadership and training.


This is a superb opportunity for someone who is committed to
theological training and development in the Church of England but wishes to pursue their own theological or pastoral interests.
