Job Description

Benefice of Haughley with Wetherden and Stowupland

Priest in Charge

Benefice of Haughley with Wetherden and Stowupland

We are seeking and praying for an ordained minister to come and lead us on the next stage of our journey and to help us develop our vision of growing younger, in number, in depth of discipleship and in influence in our communities in line with the diocesan “Growing in God” initiative.

The benefice consists of three lively churches, each with enthusiastic, committed members. All three churches are financially sound with well cared for buildings. The benefice sits in a beautiful part of Suffolk with good road and rail links close by, making Cambridge, Norwich and London all easily accessible.

We are seeking a shepherd, biblically-rooted, to inspire us, to value and develop the diverse range of services we enjoy, to help us build on the links we have with primary schools and establish a stronger relationship with the secondary school in the benefice. We pray for someone able to work with and build up the faith across all ages.

We offer a warm welcome, our support and commitment, friendly communities, a good vicarage and a willingness to work with our new priest in growing our churches.

For an informal conversation contact the Archdeacon of Sudbury, The Ven Dr David Jenkins (01284 386942) or see

Closing date: 22 September | Interviews: 9/10 October
