Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham
Priest in Charge (Vicar Designate)
The Benefices of Burton Joyce with Bulcote and Stoke Bardolph, and Lowdham with Caythorpe and Gunthorpe.
We are excited about the opportunities for growth in a new benefice currently being formed with two parish churches and four smaller worshipping communities, situated in these beautiful, vibrant, commuter/rural communities of the Trent Valley between Nottingham and Southwell.
We are praying for someone of energy and vision to build on all that is good while releasing the untapped potential there is. Could this be you?
What we offer;
An attractive place to live and work - close to Nottingham’s cultural and recreational facilities but located in the countryside
Church congregations that want to grow and collaborate together
A full-time curate to be appointed into the new benefice
Two Church of England Primary Schools and connections to a County Primary
Well-established community networks with multiple opportunities for mission, evangelism and discipleship
Joining newly appointed, lively and supportive colleagues within the local deanery group.
We are looking for someone who;
Has a confident and prayerful faith as a disciple of Christ
Enjoys people of all ages, inside and outside the church
Has experience of leadership in a growing church, especially with younger people, families and children
Is a gifted communicator, teacher and preacher
Is a collaborative leader able to release the gifts of members and train a curate
Has the ability to engage with, understand and disciple more affluent residents often working in significant roles within the City and County
