The Bishop of Southwark, jointly with Southwark Diocesan Board of Finance, wishes to appoint a Priest in Charge (House for Duty) St Andrew’s Kingswood

We are a church family that seeks to share the love of Christ in the community here and worldwide.

 

The Parish of Kingswood, encompassing the churches of St Andrew’s and the Wisdom of God, is prayerfully seeking a person to lead us into a season of growth, both in our worship and in our outreach, to the diverse community we serve. Our two churches, each with its own distinctive identity, serve a thriving community of approximately 5,800 people. Together with our supportive and dedicated team, we are ready to partner with our new Priest in Charge to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.

The person we are looking for should:

  • Be approachable and a visible presence in the community

  • Be an inspirational preacher and leader to deepen the faith of the congregation

  • Have strong pastoral skills and willing to visit the sick, elderly and young families

  • Be a leader with a welcoming style who makes everyone, even those on the fringes of the church, feel loved and part of God’s family

  • Occupy the central ground in matters of doctrine and worship

Accommodation will be provided in the form of a three bedroom detached house in Lower Kingswood.
