is seeking to appoint a priest:

The Benefice of Whitstable

Team Rector and lead minister for Seasalter, St. Alphege

The well-established Team Ministry in Whitstable comprises five Anglican churches (total AWA 2016 – 506) with diverse styles of worship in this vibrant Kent coastal town.


We are looking for someone who will be Team Rector for the whole benefice but who will also have special responsibility for the congregation of Seasalter, St Alphege as that congregation continue their journey of “Making disciples of Christ, growing the church of God”. This inclusive open evangelical church (AWA 207), with flourishing ministries with children and young people, is looking to build on its growth in numbers and spirituality.

Recognising the two roles of Team Rector and Lead Minister for St. Alphege, you will:

  • have strategic skills and a track record of church growth
  • be able to nurture and develop the gifts of the whole church
  • be an effective team leader
  • have an appreciation of the diversity of Anglican worship
  • be an inspiring preacher and teacher
  • have a well-developed sense of humour
