THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced priest with keen pastoral gifts, strategic leadership capabilities, and a ministry of enabling others, to shape an emerging benefice and take up a commission as Rural Dean. Thus we are seeking someone who will:

  • Love God and love people and seek to bring the two together;
  • Offer wisdom and experience to the new pattern of oversight and local ministry, further developing a cohesive and collaborative way of working across the parishes.
  • Contribute experience of enabling growth and will invest in developing leaders, lay and
  • Bring strategic leadership, taking on the role of Rural Dean (for an initial term of 3 years) as the deanery learns new ways of working.

WE OFFER:

  • A diverse cluster of parishes in welcoming communities, ready to embrace a new chapter of parish life;
  • The beauty of rural villages, glorious moorland and market town – the gateway to Cornwall;
  • A support package including administration, house for duty colleague, and development programme for the Strategic Rural Dean element of the role;
  • A diocese committed to clergy wellbeing and development.
