The Catholic Church of St Gregory the Great, Cheltenham, a Grade 2* Listed Building by Charles Hansom, seeks to engage a fee paid organist and choir director following the imminent retirement of the present incumbent.

 

There are two organs of quality, a 1986 two manual and pedal organ by Sebastian Blank situated on the Sanctuary, and a recently installed two manual and pedal organ built in 1866 by the renowned ‘Father’ Henry Willis, originally for St Mark’s Anglican Church, Horsham, situated in the west gallery.

 

Commitment would be primarily to the weekly Sunday (11:15) Solemn Mass with a weekday choir practice. The weekly fee payable for 3 hours (Mass and choir practice) is £150. Additional work for Holy Days of Obligation, Christmas and Easter will be paid at the same hourly rate. There are opportunities for weddings (at a fee of £200) and funerals (at a fee of £110).
