Job Description

This is a very exciting role for a Missional Leader to be appointed to the latest Resourcing Church in the Diocese of Durham. This is a pioneering and missional post based around a lively and growing church. We are looking to appoint someone who is committed to:

  • GROWING a local team to include two funded posts, such as a children and families worker and admin support role
  • DEVELOPING a congregation in Oxclose of 140 over four years by utilising excellent but undeveloped community contexts and developing a style and ethos in worship and other events which are attractive to families
  • TARGETING family and children’s work
  • NURTURING discipleship and establishing, in the DNA of the church, a commitment to growth and church planting
  • USING LEARNING gained from the Diocese’s Missional Leadership for Growth programme, and in particular the APEST model, to identify gifts and encourage vocation.
  • TRAINING AND EQUIPPING lay people using the MLG ‘know yourself, know your vocation’ model and develop these vocations in ways that will support our planting out agenda
  • ENGAGING AND BUILDING relationships with receptive churches and community groups
  • PLANTING OUT into other areas of the town through engagement with receptive neighbouring churches and the local community

Is God calling you to this role?
