Job Description

£32,314 per annum plus 8.5% Employer Pension Contributions

 

The Diocese of Coventry is seeking to appoint a full time Intercultural Mission Enabler to help the Diocese deliver its ambitions for a culture change in making and growing new Disciples, Our shared commitment is to work with determination and zeal towards a fuller representation of social, cultural and ethnic diversity of our region in our church communities, visible and participating in the worship, ministry and life of the church.

 

The main responsibilities are:

  • To grow healthy church communities that more fully represent the wide ethnic and cultural make up of people living across the Diocese.

  • Increase the number of United Kingdom Minority Ethnic / Global Majority Heritage vocations (lay and ordained).

  • Enable learning opportunities on Race Awareness to be accessed across the diocese.

The successful applicant will have a Degree or equivalent in Theology, proven experience of leadership in a church that is culturally/ethnically diverse, experience of working with churches of more than one tradition, be a skilled and confident communicator, be able to work collaboratively with lay people and clergy as equal colleagues in a strong team culture, and a creative thinker, able to re-imagine mission and ministry in contemporary society.

 

A demonstrable understanding and commitment to the Mission of the Church of England, being called to proclaim afresh the Christian Faith in each generation is essential. It is therefore an Occupational Requirement (Schedule 9 part 1 of the Equality Act 2010) of this post to have a committed Christian faith.
