Job Description

This is an unusual part-time post (Sundays plus two full days, or the equivalent spread over the week) located in rural north Oxfordshire. Our benefice is made up of 3 parishes, 4 churches and 3 congregations.


We are looking for an active pastor who is:

  • Able to offer pastoral guidance, whom parishioners can respect spiritually, intellectually and personally.
  • Passionate about sustaining the traditions of worship whilst attracting larger congregations.
  • Able to undertake domiciliary pastoral visits for the elderly and infirm residents of the parishes.
  • Happy to offer support for the children in the congregations and collaboration with the Head Teacher of Great Tew Primary School.
  • Able to engage with the changing nature of rural communities


Our incumbent will be provided with a handsome mainly C18th listed Vicarage of large & elegant proportions with a large garden, owned and maintained by The Great Tew Charity Estate. There is a good local primary school and other amenities.
