In addition to supporting our students, the College also fulfils a leading role in enhancing the experience of staff colleagues, contributing to a strong sense of community across our campus, both at Whitelands College and across the University.
The Head of Whitelands College is responsible for the leadership of the College and for ensuring its continued success. Broadly, the Head of College will:
- Maintain and develop the ethos and values of the College,
inherited from its Anglican foundation, and enhance
relationships and connections between the College, the
Governing Body, the local community particularly the Alton
Estate in which the College is set, the University and the
Anglican Communion, both at a national and international level and in relation to the Anglican Parish of Roehampton.
- Build a community that meets the needs of students and staff, both residential and non-residential, of faith or none, and which enriches their experience of University life and the College and University’s academic culture.
- Support and promote a collegiate environment with the aim of enriching the student and staff experience and contributing to the nurturing of graduates.
- Be an entrepreneurial ambassador of the College and the
University and raise their profiles locally, nationally and
internationally, in Anglican-related networks and more widely.
The role is part-time (0.5fte) and may be combined with an existing role at the University. For applications from outside the University, an additional 0.5 FTE may be available as a member of staff of an
