Full-time Deputy Director

The Council of Christians and Jews

Contract:

Permanent

Location:

UK

Ref: JN006644

Job Description

The Council of Christians and Jews is the Leading National Forum for
Christian-Jewish Engagement.

CCJ was founded in 1942, during the darkest days of the Second World War and the Holocaust by Archbishop of Canterbury William Temple and Chief Rabbi Joseph Hertz, to promote religious and cultural understanding between Christian and Jewish communities and to advance the elimination of religious and racial prejudice, hatred and discrimination with particular reference to antisemitism, underpinned by ethical and social teachings common to Judaism and Christianity. CCJ’s message remains as important and relevant today as it was then and CCJ’s programmes, in Education, Dialogue and Social action continue to enable good relations between faiths as we meet growing contemporary challenges.

CCJ is now seeking to appoint a full-time Deputy Director to support the Director in leading CCJ forward in the coming years.

This is a job for a person with vision and moral purpose, who wants to join a historic and vibrant organisation at an exciting and challenging time with a mission to build genuine bridges in innovative ways.

The Deputy Director will be supported by a dynamic team to deliver innovative and high quality projects which contribute towards positive relationships between Christians and Jews in the UK.
