Applications are invited for this newly created post to lead the new Outreach department and to encourage, inspire and promote mission and evangelism across the Diocese of Chester.
The Outreach department has combined the previous departments of Mission and Social Responsibility into one team that will work to deliver the Church of England’s five Marks of Mission in the Diocese of Chester.
The successful candidate will be responsible for this delivery across all 5 Marks of Mission in parishes, deaneries and the Diocese as well as ensuring that the balance of evangelism and social responsibility is sustained. They will advise and inform the Bishop, the Diocesan Synod and other diocesan officers in these areas of responsibility.
They will require wide ranging experience of church leadership as an ordained or lay person, including hands-on involvement in mission and evangelism. (S)he will have proven experience as a practitioner of mission and / or social responsibility who will work with parishes and the Diocese in new missionary and social responsibility initiatives.
The Director of Outreach post is based at Church House, Daresbury, with some travel around the Diocese.
Salary: £42,066 - £46,737 dependent upon qualifications and experience.
There is an Occupational Requirement that the post holder is a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act, 2010.
