Seeks to appoint an accomplished, imaginative musician sympathetic to the Christian faith as Director of Music/Organist
With a new incumbent and a recently fully restored organ (Forster and Andrews of Hull 1881) we are looking for a musician who will build on the considerable talent to be found in the congregation, enhancing
and developing our modern catholic worship. Some use of our
Bluthner grand piano and other instruments is also desirable.
An occasional choir (deployed for some festivals) is of a reasonable standard but it is hoped that a more regular place be found for it within the liturgy.
The Director of Music will act as parochial consultant for the variety of external musical events and activities hosted by St Paul’s - St Paul’s Opera, Clapham Community Choir, Clapham Chamber Music. The Director of Music will also advise on the regular maintenance of the church’s instruments.
Main service: Sung Eucharist at 09:45.
Some midweek feasts are marked with a Sung Eucharist.
Occasional Offices to be accompanied by the DoM or deputies recruited.
Holidays - six Sundays per year.
