The Chapter of Winchester Cathedral wishes to appoint a Director of Music to begin 1st September 2026, following the interim tenure of Dr Andrew Lucas.

This is a prestigious appointment, with the successful applicant taking responsibility for the excellence and breadth of musical provision across the Cathedral.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding organist and choral director capable of leading, developing and sustaining the Choral Foundation and its pivotal place in the mission of the Cathedral.

Salary: £45,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Accommodation: Provided rent-free in the Cathedral Close

Utility Allowance: £3,000 per annum to be paid in monthly instalments to subsidise the cost of heating
Contract: Full-time, permanent
