The Parish Church of St Andrew, Colyton is seeking to appoint a new Director of Music

St Andrew's is a vibrant liturgical church with a long-established choral tradition, seeking a gifted and imaginative Director of Music to lead us into an exciting new chapter.

Situated near the Jurassic Coast, Colyton is a welcoming East Devon town offering an exceptional quality of life and excellent opportunities for musical outreach.

We are a warm and forward-looking community where music lies at the heart of our worship and mission. With a loyal choir, strong RSCM links, and active support for young musicians, we offer a flourishing foundation on which to build.

We seeking a skilled organist and choir trainer who will:

• Inspire our existing choristers and develop a junior choir

• Recruit, teach, and encourage singers and young musicians

• Develop our organ scholarship provision

• Collaborate with the Rector to shape musical opportunities

The post is self-employed and will be remunerated at £10,000 p.a. (depending on experience), with additional fees available. Regular commitments include Friday rehearsals, the Sunday Eucharist, and monthly Choral Evensong, with six Sundays off per year.
