The Diocese of Oxford is looking for a new Director of Ordinands with the experience and strategic skills to release the considerable potential for licensed lay and ordained ministry across the Diocese.
You will be leading a high quality DDO team of 7 colleagues which includes 2 full time and 3 self-supporting Area Directors of Ordinands (ADOs). You will be as comfortable being a team member as team leader. You will lead the process to discern our strategic response to the key vocations opportunities which includes our vision to grow new congregations in every part of the Diocese, many of which will be in areas of new housing.
You will be skilled in fostering lay and ordained vocations and able to efficiently oversee candidates through the selection process. You will have the experience to navigate the changes in selection process from 2020.
You will be specifically responsible for candidates in the Buckingham archdeaconry working as a member of the Area Team. With DDO colleagues, you will co-ordinate and lead a wider network of vocations adviser that actively promotes mission focused vocations, ordained and lay.
We are actively seeking to widen participation and diversity in ministry, particularly from currently under-represented groups such as young people and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic vocations.
This role attracts a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) for the appointed persons to be an ordained member of the Church of England under Part 1 Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. You will be an ordained Anglican priest with proven parochial experience and able to engage with and be at home in the breadth of the Church of England.
Salary: £51,510 per annum
