PRIEST IN CHARGE OF CLAYTON WEST AND SCISSETT (0.5)
We are looking for an ordained woman or man to join our Diocesan Team of Clergy Development Officers as part of our wider vision of
lifelong learning for all. Having special responsibility for the
Huddersfield Episcopal Area she/he will work with colleagues to develop, resource and integrate clergy training and formation
both in IME Phase 2, and in the Continuing Ministerial Development
of the clergy.
The post holder will also be priest in charge of the villages of Clayton West (population 3000) and Scissett (population 1200) in the Upper Dearne Valley. Both churches have been reordered for community use. They are looking for a priest who is prayerful and spiritual and whose life is lived out in their actions and ministry. He/she should be a good
communicator, able to inspire the congregations, make links with the community and other local churches and be keen to grow new
There is a large and spacious rectory opposite the church in Clayton West. There are good road links to the M62 and M1 and nearby rail links from Huddersfield and Wakefield.
