Clare College has a vacancy for the post of Dean. Clare is the second oldest of the 31 Colleges of the University of Cambridge and is situated in the heart of the historic centre of Cambridge.
The post is open to any ordained member of a Christian church in
communion with the Church of England. The Dean will be required to hold a licence from the Bishop of Ely.
The principal duties of the Dean are the conduct of worship in the
College Chapel according to the rites of the Church of England and the exercise of pastoral care towards all members of the College
community. The Dean is usually Director of Studies in Theology, and
previous Deans have often also taught for the Divinity Faculty and
The stipend will be £36,261 per annum. Accommodation or, as an alternative, a housing allowance will be offered. The appointment will be from 1 January 2019.
