Job Description

The College is seeking a successor to the current Dean and CEO who will retire in January 2020. The ACT was established over 100 years ago and is now a consortium of 18 colleges – Australia’s largest theological provider - and aspiring to university status. Evangelical in ethos, it operates in a globally connected and competitive environment and under increasingly comprehensive regulation by the Commonwealth Government.

 

The Dean and CEO will manage the affairs of the ACT, exhibiting particular skill in fostering collegiality, encouraging scholarship and research and developing the potential and reputation of the ACT domestically and internationally while respecting the identity of the affiliated colleges. The Dean and CEO will implement an appropriate business model to ensure that the ACT fulfils its core function of providing an educational experience that equips people for Christian life and practice and maintains the ACT’s distinguished record of regulatory compliance and student satisfaction.

 

The successful candidate will be of exemplary character, theologically informed, inclusive, pastorally warm-hearted, skilled in managing at executive level, cross-disciplinary in approach and able to successfully navigate the ACT through constant change in the higher education sector.

 

An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant. The position will be based in Sydney.
