St Stephen, Walbrook, City of London






We are looking for an experienced and skilled Church Administrator to join St Stephen Walbrook to support our ministry in the City of London. Aspects of the role are


  • to be a key staff member in the life of St Stephen Walbrook
  • to have responsibilities for many of the day-to-day activities of the church, working closely as a team with the Priest In Charge, the Curate and the Verger
  • to be responsible for the care and supervision of our iconic church, a world renowned Sir Christopher Wren masterpiece
  • the maintenance of important relationships with

* the Parochial Church Council, the Churchwardens, Parishioners and Church musicians

* Visitors to the church, event, exhibition and concert organisers, contractors
and service providers

* City Guilds and Livery companies, City businesses and organisations

* the Diocese of London, the Archdeaconry and St Martins-in-the-Fields, our
partner church in the West End


This position requires exceptional professionalism and a ready response to an ever-changing environment. Multi-tasking, sound decision making, self-motivation and discretion are essential as are proven organisational, financial, communication, interpersonal and basic computer skills.


Working hours are based on the equivalent of four working days (7 hours per day). Core office hours are 9 am - 5 pm, however flexibility will be required to accommodate some evening and early morning work. Generally the church is closed at weekends. The annual salary based on a four day week will be £23,360.
