The Corporation of The Church House is a Church of England charity established
by Royal Charter in 1888, which owns, maintains and operates Church House
for the benefit of the National Church Institutions. Income is generated by rent
from tenants and trading profit from the wholly owned trading subsidiary, Church
House Conference Centre Limited. Our current CEO/Secretary is retiring after
10 years in the role and we are seeking an outstanding leader to take us forward
into the next stage of our development.
Our new CEO/Secretary will work closely with our Chair and Trustees to develop
and implement critical strategies and policies across a range of functions and, as
Chief Executive, will ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the Corporation.
You will head up a team of dedicated professionals and bring exceptional vision
and creativity, inject enterprise to our work, maintain and maximise the use of our
historic buildings and ensure financial stability, providing supportive and effective
management for all of the Corporation’s resources. You will work proactively
with our many and varied partners across and beyond the Corporation, most
significantly with the National Church Institutions, to ensure that our work is
delivered effectively and efficiently.
This is no ordinary leadership role and we are looking for an extraordinary
person. You will be a committed and practising Christian*, with a track record
of successful senior leadership gained in a relevant environment in the public
or private sector. With first class interpersonal skills, political acumen, flexibility
and resilience, you will have the intellectual rigour to maintain outstanding
relationships with our varied stakeholders and will bring the ability to inspire,
motivate and influence, to make a real contribution to our work.
