Chaplain and Lord Crewe Career Development Fellow

The College invites applications for the position of Chaplain and Lord Crewe Career Development Fellow. The fellowship is tenable for a fixed term of four years from 1 September 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The Fellowship is intended for candidates who are at an early stage of their postdoctoral career, and in priest’s orders of the Church of England (or of a church in full communion with the Church of England). The appointment is subject to confirmation by the College’s Visitor, the Bishop of Lincoln. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will spend half of their time on research and developing an academic career and the other half of their time on duties related to their role as Chaplain.


The successful applicant will undertake independent academic research in any subject area. Lincoln has strengths across both arts and sciences, and a full list of subjects taught may be found on the College’s website. The Fellow will not have any teaching responsibilities.


Salary and allowances: As Chaplain will be £14,979.50 per annum, this being equivalent to 50% of the stipend paid to incumbents and those of incumbent status in the Diocese of Oxford. Salary as Lord Crewe Career Development Fellow will be £18,012 per annum, this being 50% of £36,024 (NSP 29).
