PT 15-20 hours per week
The Chaplain, who must be a priest of the Church of England or of a church in communion therewith and will be required to hold a licence from the Bishop of Newcastle, will be responsible for the spiritual wellbeing of the Residents of an Almshouses Charitable Trust in central Newcastle upon Tyne. The Trust has around 200 residents located on two sites in central Newcastle, which are no more than a ten-minute walk apart.
Principal duties include arranging and conducting weekly services, visiting residents in their homes and when in hospital, arranging social events for residents, and joining in the social life within the Trust more generally.
The Trustees offer provided accommodation, a stipend in line with that paid to incumbents in the Diocese of Newcastle and membership of a workplace pension scheme The stipend is negotiable depending on the hours that the successful applicant can commit to the chaplaincy.
