Wadham College, one of the largest of the colleges of the University of Oxford, is seeking to fill the permanent, full-time post of Chaplain to succeed the current Chaplain who is leaving in September.
The Chaplain of the College is a person in Anglican Orders who will
nurture the College community, provide pastoral and spiritual support,
lead services of high quality liturgically and musically, maintain a
dignified yet informal atmosphere in Chapel, and promote the open and progressive ethos of Wadham.
The Chaplain plays an integral part in the College community. The
College values its open and inclusive nature, respecting the values and beliefs of people of all faiths and of no faith at all. The Chaplain is
expected to work with and support all members of the College,
irrespective of their religious background.
In addition to the role of Chaplain, the person appointed to this post is expected to provide welfare support, at least 50% of the time
devoted to welfare functions and 50% to those of Chaplain. It is highly
desirable for the person appointed to have either counselling
qualifications or equivalent welfare experience. This is a full-time,
permanent post reporting to the Sub-Warden.
The salary will be based on the University of Oxford Salary scale from £31,604 - £42,418 pa (Grade 7).
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Tuesday 24 July 2018.
A covering letter and curriculum vitae should be sent to the Warden’s Executive Assistant by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or posted to the Executive Assistant to the Warden at Wadham College by 24 July 2018. Please demonstrate in the covering letter how your skills and experience relate to the role and how you meet the person specification. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 7 August 2018
