Sons & Friends of the Clergy exists to support those Anglican clergy families who, for whatever reason, are facing poverty, hardship, illness or other challenges. In 2017 we gave out grants amounting to £2.7 million to over 900 clergy families.
With clergy wellbeing increasingly in focus, this is an exciting time for Sons &
Friends. With the support of a new Chief Executive appointed in April 2017,
the charity’s board are now looking to craft a fresh strategy and approach to
governance that will take the organisation through the coming years.
Working with fellow trustees, the Chief Executive and the Senior
Leadership Team, the new Chair will play a key role in leading and shaping
this strategic process. We are looking for a senior leader with strong
commercial acumen and a proven track record of leading organisations
through organisational change. With the ability to see the bigger picture you
will have successfully translated strategy into operations. With a naturally
collaborative leadership style, you must have previous experience of
chairing boards and committees.
We are also looking for up to five new Trustees and are particularly
interested in hearing from people with experience in at least one of the
following areas: investment, marketing and communications, governance,
welfare and benefits and online delivery of services.
