Resourcing Churches are about our friends, our neighbours, our work colleagues, our fellow students – the child in playgroup, the older person in a residential home, the shop assistant making sandwiches, the person who lives for sport every weekend.
Resourcing Churches are about people, specifically the 93% of our community who are not part of any Christian worshipping community and, through the renewal of existing churches, intentional and strategic church planting and the encouragement of fresh expressions of Church, we are seeking to respond to God’s call to help all come to know His love, such that we might better serve Him in our communities. Is God calling you to be at the heart of this?
The Bishop of Leicester is seeking to recruit a full time Associate Vicar/Rector to four of our Resourcing Churches. These key appointments form part of the underlying strategy to enable the Resourcing Churches to embrace their church planting aims, alongside the on-going support and growth of each Resourcing Church. If you enjoy working collaboratively, affirming lay ministries, preparing congregations to plant, are interested in strategic development and are comfortable with leading change we would like to meet you.
Summary profiles for each of the four contexts are available at www.leicester.anglican.org but the best way to find out more is an open event from late morning on Wednesday 5th to lunchtime on Thursday 6th September.
The programme will include an opportunity to meet with Bishop Martyn and some of the senior team looking to develop the calling of Resourcing Churches (including the four incumbents), to hear more of the diocesan vision and to explore the four local contexts with a visit to each of the Resourcing Churches. Overnight accommodation, meals and transport around the four contexts are all provided.
Details of the Open Event and registration form can be found on the Diocesan website: www.leicester.anglican.org
