Job Description

St Barnabas is a growing, evangelical charismatic Anglican church. Prominently placed in a cosmopolitan area close to the centre, our church gathers up to 300 people on Sundays across all ages and stages of life from Cambridge and its surrounding villages. Our call is to be: followers of Jesus sharing the goodness of God with everyone. We are a church of communities spread out across the city and beyond, all with a focus to reach people who don’t yet know Jesus. This role presents an exciting opportunity for strategic leadership within a dynamic staff team and with a dedicated church family in taking forward this next stage of the church’s vision to become a centre of mission. This stage includes pioneering communities in new social contexts and planting out. Part of the role will have a particular emphasis on working with young adults and students.

We seek an Associate Vicar who is:

  • Christ-centred, open to the Holy Spirit and firmly grounded in the Bible.
  • a pro-active team builder who is ready both to lead by example and to release and invest in people in mission, community and leadership.
  • outward looking and committed to charismatic spirituality whilst able to be open to the wisdom of other Christian traditions.
  • gifted in teaching with a desire to apply biblical truth to everyday life.
  • strong in personal relationships, encouraging and empowering people to use their gifts & share their faith in Jesus.
  • a self-starter who is passionate about bringing people to know Jesus.

This role is of incumbent status with a four-bedroom house and expenses.

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
