St James’s is a lively inclusive parish church in central London. Eucharist-centred, our common life includes a broad range of activities including adult Christian formation course, Bible study, political engagement through Citizens, Eco Church, campaigning on asylum issues, and hosting a wide range of debates, interfaith events, concerts and street markets. Located in London’s commercial West End, we seek to welcome all as part of our congregation including people going through homelessness and those with no recourse to public funds.
We are looking for an open-minded and energetic priest with a mature spirituality to assist the Rector, wardens and PCC in exploring the meaning of Christ’s gospel in this complex environment.
Main responsibilities include the development of congregational life and pastoral care, and deepening the spirituality and discipleship of the St James’s community.
Closing date for applications: midday Monday 2nd December 2019
Interviews: Monday 9th December 2019.
St James’s Church Piccadilly is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all. However, we are aware that women and those from ethnic minority groups are currently under-represented among London clergy and so we particularly encourage applications from these groups. Appointment will of course be based on merit alone.
Stipend and housing offered.
