St James’s is a lively inclusive parish church in central London. Eucharist-centred, our common life has included a broad range of activities in recent times including adult Christian formation course, Bible study, political engagement through Citizens, Eco Church, campaigning on asylum issues, and hosting a wide range of debates, interfaith events, concerts and street markets. Located in London’s commercial West End, we seek to welcome all as part of our community including people going through homelessness and those with no recourse to public funds.
We are looking for an energetic, prayerful priest with a mature spirituality to assist the Rector, wardens and PCC in exploring the meaning of Christ’s gospel in this complex environment as we make our way through the pandemic.
Main responsibilities include the development of congregational life, pastoral care, leading food hospitality projects and supporting congregation members through the asylum system.
Closing date for applications: midday Friday 11th February 2022
Interviews: Friday 18th February 2022
St James’s Church, Piccadilly is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from everyone. However, we are aware that women and those with UKME heritage are currently under-represented among London clergy and so we particularly encourage applications from these groups. Appointments are of course based on merit.
Stipend and housing offered.
