The Bishop of Exeter is seeking two experienced and pastorally gifted priests with substantial parish experience to appoint as Archdeacons. They should have a heart for mission, be committed to fostering spiritual and numerical growth, and be able to relate confidently and comfortably across the spectrum of church traditions of the Diocese. They must be personable, prayerfully-centred and instinctively collaborative in their approach.
The Archdeacons of the Diocese, of which there are four, work as a team. The priests appointed will bring to their work clear, creative and strategic thinking and effective organisational skill. In partnership with their Suffragan Bishop, they are expected to carry forward the growth strategy of the Diocese to help realise the full potential of their archdeaconries and develop the vocation of the whole people of God. Each Archdeacon will also be expected to oversee a major portfolio of Diocesan responsibility.
The Archdeaconry of Plymouth is currently vacant and the Archdeaconry of Exeter becomes vacant on 31st July. For more information about the Diocese, see www.exeter.anglican.org
